In-House training programme

All new staff  complete our company training programme that outlines Abbeywood Tots ways of working. The interactive training programme outlines the job role and the opportunities available.

Career progression

Whether you are unqualified or been in the field for many years we encourage all our staff to sign up for additional training and qualifications to enhance their knowledge in Early years. From level 2 Early Years to degree level and anything in-between we support it.

Annual Pay reviews

Staff performance and commitment is taken into account and is reflected in pay rises each year.

Internal career progression

We love to promote within our nursery when necessary. That’s why most of our managers started off as level 2/3 nursery nurses.

Childcare discount

We offer discount to all our staff when they come back from maternity.

Flexible working hours

Most staff work there contracted hours over the course of the week. When requested we will try and make it fit in with your own life schedule.

Annual Leave

All our staff are given 28days  holiday (including bank holidays) and each year you are with us you get an additional day. Managers start on 25 days (excluding bank holidays). Full time staff get an additional day each year – maximum is 38 days per year (including bank holidays). When you contribute we match you and contribute too.

Staff Training and development

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s)
The NVQ in Early Years is offered to all staff.

The NVQ scheme allows you to achieve a qualification whilst working and gaining valuable experience. To gain an NVQ you need to be able to prove your competence whilst caring for children in our Nurseries.

You will be assessed on your practical skills as well as your knowledge and understanding of the tasks being carried out.

NVQ Courses available:

  • NVQ Level III – Early Years Care and Education – For Nursery Assistants with previous experience
  • NVQ Level IV – Early Years Care and Education – For Nursery Managers
  • Assessor Awards – For qualified staff who wish to assess NVQ’s
  • Internal Verifiers Award – For experienced Assessors who wish to verify assessments

  • Administration
  • Customer Service
  • Learning and Development
