Adeys Farm is a 500 acre organic grassland farm situated in the Severn Vale about 20 minutes from Bristol – it is farmed by Tim and Caroline Wilson.

Adeys Farm was converted to organic status registered with the Soil Association over 20 years ago, although Tim was brought up on an organic farm at Tetbury and has farmed organically ever since.
We have since had three childen of our own and so are keen for them to have a good organic diet too!

Great care has always been taken over the breeding of our stock to ensure the best quality and flavour of the meats, which for us meant keeping old English breeds such as Gloucester Old Spot pigs, Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cattle, and Suffolk and Hampshire sheep.

Our animals remain in family groups and are reared on our organic clover-rich pastures and fed organic oats, wheat and beans grown on the farm. They lead as natural a life as possible with little stress, and reach a natural maturity to provide superior flavoured meat which is then well- hung to enhance its tenderness and succulence!.

It is free from additives, antibiotic and chemical residues.

The farm is a haven for wildlife – we have many miles of huge hedgerows as our fields have never been amalgamated to create large fields and the various woodlands, orchards and ponds have all been retained.

We sell most of our organic meats ourselves through farmshops, delis, organic supermarkets, restaurants, schools and farmers’ markets. We aim to provide a personal service to the individual needs of all our customers – it gives us huge pleasure to farm in this way and to send off satisfied customers with the end product!

Yeo Valley

We’ve been farming in the beautiful Yeo Valley since 1961, when the Mead family first bought the farm here in Blagdon.

Today we are the largest family-owned dairy business in the UK, with 1200 acres of farmland and 420 award-winning British Friesian cows.

We’re 100% Yeoganic which means we go the extra country mile to look after our land and livestock and we always strive to do the right thing.

Supporting British Family Farms is at the heart of everything we do, which includes buying British produce where we can.

We make everything from yogurts, butter and cream to compote, ice-cream and children’s products and we’re the UK’s largest organic brand.

Essential Trading wholesales

Pure as heaven, tasty as hell

Established in 1971, Essential Trading is one of the largest worker co-operatives in the UK, and a proud pioneer of the wholefood market. Essential Trading wholesales, manufactures and distributes vegetarian wholefoods across the UK and beyond. The business specialises in ethically produced, organic, Fairtrade and ‘free from’ food sourced from all corners of the globe.

From the pickers to the packers, the chain of supply is carefully scrutinised. Essential prides itself in successfully bringing ethical alternatives and Fairtrade products to the marketplace and has gained full organic and Fairtrade accreditation to pack commodities in their purpose-built facility in Bristol.

Essential Trading is passionate about nutrition, naturalness and whether an ingredient is ethically sourced and sustainably produced. The emphasis at Essential is on pure, healthy food and ethically assured fairly-traded products you can trust. The priority is authentic, top quality ingredients, packed with goodness and bursting with flavour. It is these pure ‘free from’ products and devilishly tasty discoveries that give the Essential brand its distinct and very vibrant personality.

The co-operative has always had a strong belief in doing things their own way. Over four successful decades in business has given Essential the confidence to stand by their ‘consciously different’ ethos. For example the range offers a 100% vegetarian and GMO-free guarantee, and the worker co-operative supports small producers and independent retailers and never sells to supermarkets.

The Essential brand itself includes over 900 lines, and contains no artificial colours, flavours or modifiers. Everything is traceable, wholesome, packed with goodness, guaranteed 100% vegetarian/vegan and GMO free. The range is packaged in bold, bright and distinctive designs that are full of character and reflect the passion behind the brand.

Essential Trading also wholesales over 400 other brands including exclusive artisan ranges and superfood health heroes. With over 5,500 lines of healthy options, quality nutrition and sustainable products – 80% of which are certified organic – this is food you can have faith in.

Essential Trading is committed to the welfare of the planet. In an effort to minimise its impact on the environment, a 44.64 kWp solar power electricity system was installed at its premises. 186 solar photovoltaic panels, mounted on the roof of the warehouse, use solar PV technology to capture the clean, natural energy of the sun and convert it into electricity for the factory, warehouse and offices. The solar panels at Essential generate approximately 38000 kWh of electricity per year, representing a saving of approximately 513 tonnes of CO2 over 25 years.

Essential never air freight and take away all the hard work of sourcing authentically natural, flavoursome, sustainable food.

Springfield Poultry

Our free range chickens enjoy the great outdoors, they roam free, foraging and grazing from first light to dusk, welfare is extremely important to a Springfield bird.

Springfield Poultry have been producing top quality birds since the late 1950’s. We have our chicks from day old and have stockmen with vast husbandary experience to rear them slowly giving them time to grow naturally.

We are a forward thinking family business with old-fashioned principles values and high standards.

Rodney and Beryl Mee began Springfield Poultry by growing turkeys for Christmas and each year demand grew, the natural progression was to add chickens to their product range. Springfield is now run by Nigel and Stewart Mee,

Springfield Poultry now supply chickens and turkeys across the UK.

We hope you enjoy our poultry products and tell your friends, spreading the word that Springfield Poultry is naturally good.

The Mee family has been growing chickens at Springfield Poultry in Herefordshire for over 50 years, so we think that we must be doing something right, but we’d love to hear if you have any special requirements and we will try to oblige.

Our Springfield chickens are very special. They are bred with love and care, using only a healthy diet and are given the freedom to roam about in our sun-kissed Herefordshire fields. We want them to have a better life, so that you can too, when you choose to select our delicious home-grown Organic or Free range poultry, which you can buy online with a few clicks of your mouse and have delivered to your door.

Whether you opt for an assortment of whole chickens or portions, we have paid particular attention to how you might like to use them. We know that simple chicken breast fillets need to be plump with flavour not water, whether skin on or off; chicken thighs with bone in or out will still be succulent and we know your dinner party will be talked about for all the right reasons with our specially prepared chicken supremes, again skinned if required. For the short of time cook we have diced packages and for adventurous oriental recipes we even have the Chinese delicacy of chickens’ feet.

Our sought after free-range gourmet chicken burgers, available in three flavours: sweet chilli and lime, southern fried and lemons with black pepper, are real family favourites. Also Springfield Farm cooked and ready to eat hot smoked chicken breasts go down a storm during the BBQ season.

Oh, we nearly forgot to mention that we also produce Christmas turkeys.

95% of our chicken products are freshly chilled but we have a special frozen range for man’s best friend the working dog, with conveniently minced blocks of tasty free range chicken, perfect for special canine diets.

We hope that you enjoy browsing our website and that you are able to find everything you need. However if you would like to talk to a real person regarding your online poultry order please feel free to telephone us..
