Pre-School – Frogs

Our nursery incubator has arrived and we will soon be looking after some eggs to hatch into Chicks. The children have been enjoying finding out about the life cycle of a chick, caterpillars and frogs. To extend on the children’s interest in life cycles, over the next few weeks the children will be learning about ‘growth and change in ourselves’ We would like to welcome back Alisha who is coming back to station rd as deputy manager.

The children have enjoyed looking at ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ book to learn about the life cycle of a caterpillar, they have also been learning about themselves and how much they have changed from when they were babies. Over the next few weeks we are going to be doing lots of activities about summer and we will enjoy sharing any holidays or day trips you have pictures of.

Signing in book

Please ensure that you sign your child in and out of the building at all times. And only you enter the building when buzzed in. The signing in book is located in the foyer. This is a health and safety requirement. Many thanks.

Growth and change in ourselves

Could your child bring a picture of themselves to nursery as a baby to talk about and share for our theme.

If you have clothes missing come and have a look in our lost property box. If clothes are not labelled and we don’t know who they belong to they will be put in there.

For safety reasons please do not enter the building until you buzz the floor you require and then let in, as we need to know who is in the building at all times. Thank you

Forthcoming Events:

Forest School trip – Every Wed at the Wild Place (from Sept) Zoological discovery school – Every Tues at Bristol Zoo (from Sept)

Baby room – Butterflies

The babies have been learning their circus skills; they have been balancing and rolling balls and dressing up in funny costumes. They have also been hiding circus animals in the flour and sand. For their next theme they will be doing lots of make believe activities where they will be someone different every day. One day they will be a chef and do some cooking, and another day they will pretend to be gardeners and go to the allotment and do some gardening.

On Tues 15th July the frogs that are going to school had their graduation day. They did some lovely dancing with Jodie and collected their certificate from Kerry for all their achievements. It was an emotional day for staff and parents that came along. We would like to wish them all good luck for September when they start a new adventure at school.

Sports Day

We had a lovely sports day, at the wild place. All the children participated well in all the events and the parents that came enjoyed themselves as well.

Please be aware on hot days the children are enjoying being in the garden. Please make sure your child has suitable clothing i.e. shorts and tshirt and that they have sun cream and sunhats available.

Thank you
