Abbeywood Tots Autumn fun

Last week the Frogs, learnt about different Fairytales. We planted our own beans at the allotment and made a castle scene ready for our display. The children have enjoyed baking gingerbread men.

This week, we will be continuing our ‘Fairytale’ theme where we will be reading the ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ story and exploring the forest on our woodlands trip. We will be reading ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ and ordering different items from biggest to smallest.

Last week the Tadpoles had a ‘shopping’ themed week. They participated within lots of fun activities including making salt dough food creations then painted them. We explored our role play shop and made shopping bags
Next week we are focusing on developing our hand eye co-ordination by practicing our throwing and catching skills. We will also be using the scissors for various cutting activities and using construction toys to build.

In the Baby room we have enjoyed exploring the musical instruments and using them to make music. We have also enjoyed using a variety of resources to create different marks.
Next week, we will be focusing on minibeasts. We will be going on a mini beast hunt at the allotment and using paint to create mini beast prints on paper. We will be exploring the book ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and use the tunnels to crawl like caterpillars.

We will also be starting our cook a book sessions parents/carers can join in too!! Themes will be based around the following books:
