Abbeywood Tots Filton November 2014
This week we have been doing different forms or mark making. We have explored the marks we can make using natural resources in paint. We have developed our fine motor and writing skills by tracing over lots of shapes and squiggly lines, we’ve also explored the marks we could make in shaving foam and flour, some of us attempted to write our names. We have also shown interest in ice this week as we explored the first frost of winter both at the forest and in the nursery garden, we enjoyed picking slabs of ice up from different areas of the forest and looking through them. We also incorporated this new interest into a nursery activity. We did an experiment to explore cause and effect in water and ice. We froze two cups of water through the morning and two bottles of water for only two hours and forty five minutes. Then we poured the bottles of water on to the cups of ice and revealed some ice within the bottle, we enjoyed exploring the ice with our hands and adding food colouring to see what happened to the ice.
This week the frogs have been preparing for Christmas! We have been making our Christmas packs to take home with us nearer Christmas day. We have made hand printed reindeers with glittery red noses, Christmas trees with baubles and tinsel and calendars for 2015 with our photographs on. We have also been practicing our Christmas play so we are ready to perform to our parents in the coming weeks. We are also looking forward to Arnold the Elf visiting us throughout December and possibly playing a few tricks on us! We are very excited!
